What is a clean room?

Clean room refers to a room with a certain scale and technical requirements, specially designed to control dust in the air and prevent microbial pollution of the environment. The clean room is composed of many functional areas. Its functional areas include: clean room, air supply system, air conditioning system, air purification treatment equipment and related auxiliary facilities. The clean room is a dynamic process that continuously delivers clean air to the outside and at the same time continuously sends clean air to the inside.

There are different types of clean rooms, there is a single type and a comprehensive type of difference, and according to cleanliness to distinguish, and according to air flow organization to distinguish, and according to air conditioning methods to distinguish, and according to the size of the room area to distinguish. According to the above criteria, we can divide clean rooms into three categories:

  • By cleanliness

According to the cleanliness classification, there are high, medium and low three levels, we call it super clean room, clean workshop and clean workshop. Depending on the requirements of the production process, different levels of cleanliness are required. Different levels of clean rooms should meet the corresponding requirements in the design, otherwise it will lead to a decline in product quality or problems.

  • Airflow organization

(1) Side delivery side return: mainly used in biopharmaceutical clean room, air supply on one side of the room, return air on the other side of the room.

(4) up and down: mainly used for air conditioning purification plant. Air return from the upper part of the room, air return from the lower part.

  • By air conditioning method

Clean room is in a certain production process and operating requirements, in the production process, the use of air physical, chemical and biological effects, the indoor air temperature, humidity, pressure, cleanliness and other parameters to control and adjust, in order to obtain the required cleanliness environment to ensure product quality in the production process. According to the different methods of air conditioning can be divided into the following three categories:

1. Self-controlled clean room: unmanned automatic control system.

  • By the size of the room

1, single type clean room, by volume, its area is generally not more than 500m2. In terms of cleanliness, the cleanliness of a single clean room is generally not more than 100 levels.

According to the air flow organization, the air flow organization of the comprehensive clean room can be uniform or non-uniform, but in general, it is more uniform.

3, the difference between single type and comprehensive type: from the indoor area, single type clean room generally does not exceed 500m2, while comprehensive clean room will not exceed 1000m2; From the perspective of air flow organization, a single clean room generally adopts a unidirectional flow (unidirectional flow) form; The comprehensive clean room can be in the form of non-unidirectional flow.

  • Classification of clean rooms

Clean rooms are divided into single type and comprehensive type, and single type is divided into: ordinary clean room, clean room (10,000, thousand), biological clean room (hundred), which is the classification method used in the clean workshop design specification. At present, most of our country uses a single type, but in some industries, such as the semiconductor industry, they will use a comprehensive type.
